House Of Windsor: Part 1 of 2

This weekend I had the pleasure of touring the House of Windsor and listening to the panel discussion about the project from the designers points of view.  For those of you who aren’t quite as familiar, the House of Windsor is the brainchild of famed designer Windsor Smith- a Los Angeles based lifestyle architect who’s more of your stylish best friend you want to enjoy high tea and crumpets with than mega celebrity design guru.

The 8,500sf house, hand built from the ground up by Windsor herself, reads more like more or less like the perfect place you want to enjoy a glass of wine in while curling up with your favorite book.  Relaxed, cultured, and refined without an ounce of stuffiness.

Boasting rooms from the likes of Richard Shapiro, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Katheryn Ireland, Tara Shaw, Candice Barnes, and Peter Dunham the house previewed like a mix of East Coast ranch house meets relaxed esteemed taste.

Open to the public until July 17th, below are a few of my personal favorite spaces.

Besides the kitchen, the master bedroom, designed by San Francisco based Candace Barnes, was truly my favorite.

The master bedroom’s bathroom, also designed by Candice Barnes

I loved this fixture- reminded me of the solar system!

This kitchen was to-die-for!  Designed by Windsor Smith, it was the perfect mixture of old world meets modern day luxury.

Look who I happened to find milling around the kitchen, Windsor herself!

A surprise between the master bathroom and the guest room

The beautiful 47′ long hallway which was done by Tara Shaw

Peter Dunham, House of Windsor

Oh Peter, how you do hit it out of the park!

The creative/play/ lounge space that was simply amazing!

Be on the look out for part 2 tomorrow, which will show a peak into the panel and soiree hosted by Windsor on Saturday night!
